Riding the Covid Wave

Riding the Covid Wave

Regular price $23.00 Sale

This year instead of the annual Waimea Intermediate chocolate sale fundraiser, the school published a book!

‘Riding the Covid Wave’ is about the experiences of the local Nelson community during the recent Covid-19 restrictions.

The book is about the lives of students, teachers, essential workers and local businesses during the Lock Down Restrictions. It includes articles, poems and reflections written by students and interviews with some inspiring figures, including Chris Hipkins, Minister of Health and Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General of Health.

The book includes a foreword written by our very own Museum CEO: Lucinda Blackley-Jimson. Lucinda acknowledged that this book is a valuable historical snapshot of a time that will be written and talked about for years to come and wonders if some of the authors might become our history curators of tomorrow. Congratulations to everyone who worked on this amazing project!

All proceeds from sale of this book will go to Waimea Intermediate school.
